When you have a lot of guests for the holidays, your dining room table just doesn’t cut it. If you are fortunate enough to have a drop leaf table, or one with extensions that may be good enough for a very small crowd. However, if the guest list gets very long it’s time to bring out the folding tables. The ugly, not-so-festive industrial looking folding tables. This year, why not try dressing them up.
You can keep a few nice tablecloths tucked away for just such occasions. Alternately, there are usually inexpensive, holiday-themed disposable tablecloths available around the holidays. And what about those unsightly, small metal legs? You can attach oversized bows (made of wide ribbon) at all four corners with long tails hanging down and hiding the legs. If it is a sewing able (i.e. you don’t need to shove chairs under it) try wrapping paper all the way around to appear as solid sides, or an oversized tablecloth that hangs to the floor. Get creative – this year have fun with folding tables.
